There are very few products that leave a lasting mark on an industry. The Codajet 6000 Standard was one of them.

When it was first introduced, its high-resolution industrial printhead, manufactured in Sweden, changed what manufacturers could expect from a box coder. It brought exceptional print quality, a robust stainless-steel design and a clean, enclosed ink system at a time when most alternatives were still messy, maintenance-heavy and limited in their capabilities.

For many of our long-standing customers, the Codajet 6000 wasn't simply another printer—it became a trusted production partner.

Back then, coding and marking requirements were very different. Many production lines still relied on simple contact coders such as the Codamark or the Codaprint. They were affordable and dependable for their time, but they were also messy, labour-intensive and limited in what they could achieve.

The Codajet 6000 represented a genuine step forward.

Thousands of units were manufactured and installed around the world, proving themselves day after day in demanding production environments. Compared with the large pressurised ink systems used by many competing valve-jet printers of the time, the Codajet offered something refreshingly different: a compact, enclosed cartridge system that was cleaner, simpler and easier to maintain.

It quickly earned a reputation for reliability that many of our customers still remember today.

As production requirements evolved, so did the technology.

The introduction of the Sauven 6000 Plus in the mid-2000s wasn't about reinventing the printer. It was about making an already successful platform more capable.

The printhead remained the same. The proven ink system remained the same.

The major evolution came from the controller. Operators could now drive a single 72 mm printhead or up to four smaller printheads simultaneously, opening the door to more demanding applications. The addition of a large colour touch screen made message creation significantly easier, allowing users to see exactly what they were were creating.

This platform would eventually become the foundation for several well-known systems, including the Sauven 6000 Plus, Sauven Duo, Sauven 1000 and Sauven 7000.

The philosophy, however, never changed.

Keep it simple.

Keep it reliable.

Keep it built for industry.

Then came 2015.

Sauven ceased trading, and for many customers it felt as though an outstanding product had reached the end of its journey.

Fortunately, that wasn't the end of the story. And the transition started....

Much of the engineering knowledge, experience and passion behind those products refused to disappear.

Like the phoenix rising from the ashes, Foenix Coding was born, carrying forward not only the technology, but also the mindset that had made the Codajet and Sauven printers so successful.

The legacy lived on.

Designing the FX ONE was never about replacing the Sauven range.

It was about asking a much harder question:

That question shaped every engineering decision.

The simplicity had to remain.

The reliability had to remain.

The rugged industrial design had to remain.

But everything around it had to move into the modern manufacturing world.

Networking became essential.

Messages needed to be created from a PC as easily as from the controller.

Entire message databases had to be backed up, restored and shared across multiple production lines.

Printers had to be moved between lines without lengthy reconfiguration.

The controller became the heart of the system, allowing configurations and messages to be transferred quickly while keeping the printheads themselves simple and production-ready.

We also wanted to push performance beyond anything the Sauven platform had achieved.

Instead of controlling four printheads, the FX ONE architecture was designed to support up to 256 printheads, while still driving the proven 72 mm printhead when required.

That wasn't simply an improvement.

It established an entirely new benchmark.

The greatest advances, however, came from the latest generation of industrial printhead technology.

Today's FX ONE is faster.

Cleaner.

Completely contact-free.

It produces sharper text, superior barcodes and higher-quality 2D Data Matrix codes, even at greater throw distances than were previously possible.

But perhaps the biggest achievement isn't the technology itself.

It's that the original philosophy has survived.

Simple to operate.

Reliable every day.

Designed by engineers who understand production.

Built for manufacturers who simply need their coding equipment to work.

Every Codajet 6000, Sauven 6000 Plus, Sauven Duo, Sauven 1000 and Sauven 7000 helped shape what the FX ONE has become today.

The Codajet 6000 earned its place in the history of industrial coding. It proved that simplicity and reliability could transform production lines around the world. The FX ONE carries that same philosophy forward—but it has been re-engineered for a completely different era. Faster, smarter, connected and built for the challenges of modern manufacturing. 

It doesn't replace the Codajet's legacy; it fulfils it.
